As your Councilmember, I will work every day with you to create the Fresno we all deserve:
Revitalize our Neighborhoods and Improve our quality of life
- Secure more funding to repave streets, fix cracked sidewalks, trim City trees, and ensure our streetlights shine bright
- Build a park in the Tower District/Fresno High neighborhood and ensure the Milburn/Dakota Park is constructed
- Keep our streets and neighborhoods clean
- Ensure we build out Veterans Boulevard and other street improvement projects to provide congestion relief and improve transportation connectivity
- Ensure historical integrity is maintained in Fresno High neighborhood and the Tower District
Invest in Safer Neighborhoods to Keep our Families Safe
- Hire more police officers and firefighters to decrease the emergency response time
- Reallocate resources to proactively address speeders, street racing, and petty theft crimes like car and home burglaries
- Ensure that our police officers have the training and resources needed to keep us safe
- Create greater partnerships between law enforcement, mental health agencies, and private non-profits to ensure people in a mental health crisis get the support they need
- Support first responder hiring and retention efforts to ensure Fresno has the most-qualified individuals keeping us safe
Strengthen Our Economy and Increase the number of good-paying Jobs
- Incentivize new businesses to the area that bring good-paying jobs and prioritize local hiring
- Cut red tape at city hall to help businesses open sooner
- Prioritize City contracts to locally owned businesses
- Support partnerships with local educational institutions to ensure our workforce has the skilled employees they need
- Develop entrepreneurial programs to create new business owner opportunities
Investing in our Seniors and Youth
- Build a Senior Activity Center so our seniors have a place to socialize, learn, and stay active
- Increase youth after-school programs
- Support building a new youth community center
- Increase the number of paid internships and jobs for youth
- Support College-going educational opportunities
Housing and Homelessness
- Invest in more emergency and transitional housing to get our homeless community off the streets, canal banks, and freeways
- Increase support services, including mental healthcare and drug treatment services, job skills training, and create job opportunities for those experiencing homelessness
- Expand pathways to homeownership opportunities for first-time buyers
- Expedite construction of new single-family, multi-family, and mixed-use residential projects for every income level
High-quality & Responsive Constituent Services
I will build the most responsive constituent services team who will be dedicated to responding directly to the residents and businesses of District 1. Whether it’s a tree that needs to be trimmed, a street light that needs to be fixed, or a public safety concern, my team will be quick to respond to help solve your neighborhood issues.
- I will hold satellite office hours at locations throughout District 1
- I will hold regular community events and town halls
- I will monitor crime/issues trends to quickly reallocate resources to target critical need areas
